11 tips to stay warm during cold weather in a camper or RV

Weather patterns today can be quite hard to predict and unexpected changes can ruin a trip if you’re not prepared right. Cold weather is one of the first things you should consider when going on a trip off season. But just because it’s can get cold doesn’t mean you should cancel your plans just yet. Here’s a list of things to help you live comfortably in a camper or RV when the temperature falls.
- Bring multiple power sources for backup power
- Find an internet plan that works in the locations you’re planning
- Plan your utilities for double the time you plan to stay
- Opt for a diesel heater from a reputable brand - they run quieter, are super reliable and can save you a lot of money
- Store plenty of drinking water
- Pack a dehumidifier as it can be your best bet to fight condensation which can be problematic for your RV
- Using your oven means not only having a delicious meal but can also warm your space while cooking. (Never leave your oven unattended!)
- While space can be limited for clothes, make sure you pack at least a heavy coat and some heavy duty shoes
- Sleeping bags are designed to preserve heat, and you won’t need to make your bed in the morning
- Keep a mini heater near your usable water supply, it’s inexpensive and can save your water from freezing
- Pack plenty of RV-antifreeze. You can also use it in your plumbing and gray/black tanks.
